Elorde grandson clashes with Haryanto tonight

/ 03:02 AM November 29, 2014

JUAN Miguel “The Boss” Elorde, grandson of the great Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, battles Indonesian foe Oke Haryanto tonight at the grand ballroom of Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Parañaque.

Juan Miguel’s fight became the mainer of the “Boxing Kontra Droga” card after his elder brother and WBO Asia Pacific super feather weight king Juan Martin “Bai” caught the flu a week before the fight and is unable to defend his title.

Promoter Johnny Elorde asked WBO vice president Leon Panoncillo to move the fight to a later date so that Bai, who was to fight Japanese Hirotsugu Yamamoto, could fully recover.

Meanwhile, both Elorde and Har-yanto tipped the scales at 124 pounds in yesterday’s weigh-in at Games and Amusements Board office.

The fight card is presented by Johnny Elorde Management International in cooperation with the Parañaque City government and Rotary Club of Manila 101.
