Malacañang eyes 5th straight UNTV win

MALACAÑANG will try to stretch its winning streak to five games when it faces Senate in the second round of the 3rd UNTV Cup elimination at  Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City tomorrow.

After completing a four-game sweep of their Group A elimination in the first round, the Patriots are hoping to claim their first victim from Group B when they collide with the Defenders at 5 p.m.

Led by Melvin Verches, the Patriots capped their dominance in the first round with a 92-70 drubbing of House Representatives two weeks ago.

Verches is expected to lead the Patriots anew after tallying 18 points and 8 rebounds against the Solons.

Meanwhile, Group B frontrunner Judiciary attempts to bounce back from a shock 87-84 loss to Philippine National Police of Group A last Sunday when it tangles with Department of Justice at 3:30 p.m.

Expected to lead Judiciary are former PBA players Don Camaso and Ariel Capus.

Clashing in the 2 p.m. opener are defending champion Armed Forces of the Philippines and Bureau of Fire Protection.

AFP is coming off a 106-81 thumping of Department of Justice also last Sunday.
