Filoil: SWU arrests skid with win over Lyceum

It took a joint effort from the SWU Cobras to clip Lyceum, 60-53, for their second win in the 2015 Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup Friday at Arena in San Juan City.

Melvin Holper led the Cebuano dribblers with his 12 points and seven rebounds, while Nigerian Boko Mupungo had a double-double with his 11 markers and 10 boards, to go with three rejections.

John Auditor also got 10 in the win as the SWU frontline overwhelmed their Lyceum counterparts.

The Cobras limited the Pirates to just seven points in the third and raced off to a 49-31 advantage.

FEATURED STORIES

Though coach Topex Robinson’s boys still made a spirited run in the fourth, it was not enough as SWU ran away with the victory.

The win improved the Cobras to a 2-5 slate, while Lyceum continued its struggles in the preseason tourney as it sport a paltry 1-7 card.

Jean Nguidjol paced the Pirates with 11 points, while Joseph Gabayni came off the bench with 10 markers and eight rebounds. RC
