Sensing the need for another playmaker, Barako Bull acquired bullish guard Brian Heruela from Blackwater in exchange for scoring skipper Carlo Lastimosa.

Heruela, the Cebuano rookie, has been one of the few bright spots for the Elite, as he averaged 10.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.5 steals in his first year as a pro.

His inclusion to the Energy lineup will place him alongside RR Garcia, Chico Lanete, and Paolo Hubalde as the team’s playmakers.
Lastimosa, meanwhile, will be expected to take the bulk of the scoring load with the Elite.

The 6-foot guard averaged 6.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in his sophomore season with the Barako Bull.

“We need a good wingman and also we need his ability to penetrate. We know that he does have good shooting hands and that’s why we acquired him,” said Blackwater team manager Johnson Martines. IDL
