Lady Tams, Generals eye 3rd-place sweeps

Far Eastern U and Emilio Aguinaldo College try to finish off their rivals as they go for a sweep in their respective battles for third place today at Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Starring Bernadette Pons and Jovelyn Gonzaga, the Lady Tamaraws are seeking to duplicate their 25-17, 25-17, 25-20 win over the Tigresses last week in their best-of-three showdown in the Shakey’s V-League. Game 2 is set at 12:45 p.m.

Ennajie Laure should bounce back from a half-hearted performance along with Carmela Tunay, Jessey De Leon, Pam Lastimosa and Marivic Meneses if the Tigresses want to stretch the series to the limit.

The Generals have a similar goal in their 3 p.m. match after routing the NCBA Wildcats, 25-18, 25-12, 25-14, in Game 1 of their Spikers’ Turf duel.
