Kiefer Ravena officially received his second MVP award Saturday before Game 2 of the UAAP Season 78 men’s basketball Finals between Far Eastern University and University of Santo Tomas tipped off at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Ravena led the league in scoring with 18.9 points and 4.8 assists per game and was the lone Ateneo Blue Eagle in the Top 10 players in statistical points.

Joining Ravena in the Mythical Five were MVP runner-up Kevin Ferrer of UST, Alfred Aroga of National University, Jeron Teng of De La Salle, and Ed Daquioag also of UST.

The outstanding players in the women’s division were also recognized with Afril Bernardino of NU earning back-to-back MVP recognitions.

Maica Cortez (UST), Ara Abaca of La Salle, Danica Jose of Ateneo and Cherry Ano-os of University of the East completed the ladies’ Mythical Team.

Andrei Caracut, the Green Archers’ rising star, also formally received his Rookie of the Year award.

Daquioag was also recognized as this season’s Most Improved Player and received P100,000.

The Growling Tigers will need every bit of Ferrer and Daquioag, who has been struggling as of late, in Game 2 with the Tamaraws going for the championship clincher.

The Tamawars didn’t have a single player in the Mythical Five, but Mac Belo’s efforts were awarded as he was named as PSBankable Player of the Season and was given P100,000.
