Pacquiao boxing legacy stays amid LGBT debacle, says boxing analyst

Boxing analyst Recah Trinidad said Manny Pacquiao’s current debacle against with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community would not tarnish his legacy as a legendary boxing champion.

However, it’s Pacquiao’s grandeur as a person that takes a hit.

“The legacy stays, it is the alleged nobility that threatens to be tarnished,” Trinidad told INQUIRER.net

Pacquiao has been under fire after his comments implying that gay people are worse than animals.

His remarks ignited a firestorm and even global sports brand Nike has severed its ties with the eight-division world champion.

While he is entitled to express his beliefs, Trinidad said Pacquiao’s comments “we’re a little reckless.”

“Pacquiao is entitled to his beliefs but he doesn’t have a monopoly on morality.”
