Globalport lets Sutton pursue NBA dream, taps Mike Glover

GlobalPort has granted Dominique Sutton release to allow the athletic forward to pursue his NBA dream.

According to Batang Pier team manager Bonnie Tan, Sutton received an offer to workout with the reigning NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers and the team decided to honor his “NBA out clause.”

“Sutton was offered by NBA team to work out specifically the Cavs since that is his dream, GBP have decided to grant him his NBA out clause,” Tan posted on his Twitter account Saturday afternoon.

The 29-year-old Sutton, who went undrafted in the NBA in 2012, averaged 26 points, 14 rebounds and five assists in GlobalPort’s first two games in the young 2016 Governors’ Cup.

Tan also introduced the Batang Pier’s new import in Mike Glover, who made it in time for the team’s game against the Star Hotshots on Sunday.

GlobalPort is 0-2 to start the conference after losing to Barangay Ginebra, 93-81, last Saturday and dropping a 108-98 decision to Mahindra three days ago.
