Potts did what he does best, unleashing nine of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to help San Beda advance to the title round with a 78-63 over Perpetual on Tuesday. More importantly, he did the dirty work, finishing with three rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

Potts also expressed his willingness to make his mark on the defensive end, especially with Jiovani Jalalon and Kent Salado expected to lead the Chiefs in the championship duel.

“Whether it’s guarding one of their point guards to make sure they don’t set up the offense, I’m willing to contribute whatever it needs to do to win,” he said.

But Potts made it clear that if the opportunity presents itself, he wouldn’t shy away from scoring the basketball.

“If my team get looks for me to get those big shots, I’ll do that,” he said. “At the end of the day, I want to win. I always want to win.”
