National team cyclists and other top riders across Southeast Asia will converge in the country next year for the PRUride PH, touted to be one of the biggest cycling events of 2018.

The Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales will be the site of the Jan. 11 to 14 leg while McKinley West in Taguig will host the Jan. 21 event.

“More than a gathering of the country’s most passionate cyclists, PRUride PH 2018 is committed to promote responsible and safe cycling,” said Pru Life UK’s Allan Tumbaga during the recent media launch at The Brewery in Taguig.

Southeast Asian Games champion Marella Salamat will lead some 5,000 riders taking part in 36 events, including Professional Individual Time Trial, Amateur Time Trial, 100-kilometer Gran Fondo and criterium races. —VANESSA B. HIDALGO
