Asian Games: Regalado keeps gold medal bid alive in pencak silat

Filipino Cherry May Regalado earned a shot at a gold medal after qualifying to the final stage of the women’s single pencak silat in the 2018 Asian Games Saturday in Jakarta, indonesia.

Regalado reached the medal round after finishing tied in second with Vuong Thi Binh of Vietnam in Group A behind Tunee Vilaysack of Laos.

The 23-year-old Regalado hopes to add to the Philippines’ gold medal count on Monday. The Philippines currently has one gold thanks to weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz and seven bronze medals as of posting.
