ONE: Bout canceled as Filipino bet Ramon Gonzales fails hydration test
MANILA, Philippines—Filipino martial artist Ramon Gonzales is out of ONE: Dreams of Gold after failing his weight and hydration results ahead of the Friday card at Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Gonzales, who was originally slated to face Hexi Getu in the preliminaries hit the maximum weight allowed for strawweight at 56.7 kilograms but he tallied a 1.0252 in his hydration levels, .0002 units more than the allowed mark.
The fight between Gonzales and Hexi, which could’ve helped the Filipino in his run in the division, was then cancelled.
Article continues after this advertisementHexi, meanwhile, made his weight and hydration levels at 56.2 kilograms and 1.0128, respectively.
It was an unfortunate outcome for Gonzales, who looking to extend his winning streak, all of which ended via submissions, to four fights.
Gonzales’ last win was at ONE: Roots of Honor in Manila, taking the victory over Akihiro Fujisawa 1:19 into the bout via Rear-Naked Choke.
