PBA: Ginebra nabs twice-to-beat edge after rout of Columbian

MANILA, Philippines–Barangay Ginebra tabbed the third twice-to-beat incentive in the playoffs at the expense of Columbian, 113-90, in the PBA Governors’ Cup Friday night at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Justin Brownlee led the Gin Kings, who improved to 7-3, with 26 points nine rebounds and nine assists while Stanley Pringle had 20 points.
Article continues after this advertisementJeff Chan, meanwhile, starred with a conference-best 20 points built on a highly efficient 7-of-9 shooting off the bench.
“I don’t know we could move farther than we are. But eventually we’re going to play one of our sister teams,” said coach Tim Cone.
“San Miguel and Magnolia—those are the last teams you want to meet, You don’t get to choose. So we’ll dance whoever dance card we get.”

Khapri Alston led the way for the Dyip, who missed the bottom half the playoff-bound pack, scoring 34 points and plucking 22 boards.
CJ Perez tossed in 19 while Rashawn McCarthy 12 in the losing stand.
The Gin Kings will have one more assignment in NorthPort, which they this Sunday at the Big Dome.
