MANILA, Philippines–Conor McGregor has been very vocal about wanting a crossover fight with Manny Pacquiao as part of his grand aspirations to become a boxing world champion.

The interest seems to be mutual as Pacquiao and his manager Sean Gibbons stirred the pot on a potential blockbuster bout.

In a video posted by Yahoo sports reporter Kevin Iole, Pacquiao wished McGregor well ahead of Irishman’s UFC return against Donald Cerrone on Sunday (Manila time).

“Conor, good luck in your fight on Saturday night. Do your best,” Pacquiao said in the video Friday night.

“After that, if you want to get a proper fight, good to see ya,” Gibbons, president of Manny Pacquiao (MP) Promotions, said with the Irish flag draped over his shoulders.

Gibbons had also posted mock-up fight posters of Pacquiao and McGregor on his Instagram account with the 60,000-seater Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, which is still under construction and projected to officially open six months from now, as the venue.

The 31-year-old McGregor is appearing in his first MMA fight since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in the fourth round of their lightweight title fight in October 2018.
