Cariaso expects more consistent Vic Manuel on both ends for Alaska
MANILA, Philippines — Vic Manuel has been on a steady rise in the last several years for Alaska, but his head coach Jeffrey Cariaso believes the versatile forward still has a lot more to give.
And it starts on the defensive end.
Article continues after this advertisement“I think what we can expect more from Vic is more consistency and I mean not just with the scoring,” said Cariaso in a story on the PBA website.
“We know he’s a scorer; give him the ball and he can do wonders. What we’re challenging Vic is the other aspect. Defensively, he should understand how big a role he plays.
“And when I say consistency, that’s what we’re gonna expect from Vic playing big on both sides of the floor,” he added.
Article continues after this advertisementThe 32-year-old Manuel was eager to show just that this year especially after coming off his first stint with the national team where he put up consistent numbers in the Southeast Asian Games.
Unfortunately for Manuel and the Aces, the 45th season got suspended on March 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
