PBA: Terrafirma stuns Ginebra too after San Miguel upset
MANILA, Philippines—Terrafirma made history after upsetting Barangay Ginebra, 95-90, in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup Friday at DHVSU Gym in Bacolor, Pampanga.
This is the Dyip’s first victory over the Gin Kings in franchise history after going 0-16 and the first time in nine years that a team was able to defeat both Ginebra and San Miguel in succession.

“First of all I have to give credit to all my players, they all want to work hard and they want to play as a team,” said Dyip head coach Johnedel Cardel whose club beat the Beermen 110-104 on Wednesday.
“I talked to the players they all want to win. We started 0-4 and when I talked to the captains, Eric [Camson] and Aldrech [Ramos], both talked to their teammates that we’re not here for a vacation but we’re here to get our first win.”

Terrafirma, which nearly squandered 13-point fourth quarter lead, played scrappy defense to stop the Gin Kings’ advance late including Matt Ganuelas-Rosser’s fearless dive to steal the ball from a cutting Japeth Aguilar with 3:10 to play.
After Aguilar’s layup cut the deficit to four, 91-87, with 37 seconds to play, Andreas Cahilig tracked back power forward Camson’s miss that allowed the Dyip big man to score on a second chance layup to put Terrafirma up 93-87 with 17 seconds remaining.
Camson held his own against Ginebra’s Aguilar and Christian Standhardinger when he put up 15 points and 13 rebounds to help the Dyip while Aldrech Ramos combined for 21 points.
Standhardinger had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the Gin Kings who fell to 2-3.
