Henry Galinato joins UP Maroons for one-and-done UAAP season
MANILA, Philippines—Big man Henry Galinato has committed to University of the Philippines for a one-and-done campaign in the 84th season of the UAAP, group Fil-Am Nation Select announced.
The 6-foot-6 center attended a private workout, along with two other players, headed by Bo Perasol, the head of the UP Men’s Basketball Team head of basketball operations, organized in the United States.
“Proud to announce the commitment of Henry Galinato who will suit up and play for the Fighting Maroons in Season 84,” wrote Fil-Am Nation Select on Instagram. “He’ll be looking forward to showcase his skills and make an instant impact for his team.”

Galinato last played for Benedictine University Mesa in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics where he averaged 13 points and 9.6 rebounds as a senior.
UP’s signing of Galinato is the latest of the school’s move prior to Season 84 with Carl Tamayo and Gerry Abadiano, who played for Nazareth School of National University, also committing to play for the Fighting Maroons.
CJ Cansino also transferred to UP after he played two seasons with University of Santo Tomas.
Goldwyn Monteverde was signed in as the Fighting Maroons’ coach after Perasol moved on to the team’s internal office.
