NLEX, coach Yeng Guiao ‘mutually agreed to part ways’ says team
MANILA, Philippines–NLEX on Friday confirmed the sudden departure of coach Yeng Guiao after five seasons and one conference at the helm.
A statement posted on the team’s official website said that Guiao and the Road Warriors “mutually agreed to part ways” but made no further details other than expressing gratitude for “helping the squad in becoming a consistent playoff contender.”
Article continues after this advertisement“It was a mutual decision between the NLEX Road Warriors management and Coach Yeng Guiao to end the agreement,” the Road Warriors said through their website ArangkadaNLEX.com.
“We thank him for developing the team. In fact, we reached the semis twice and this showed how he professionalized the team. We wish Coach Yeng all the best in his future endeavors.”
Guiao’s departure was considered a surprise since the move came weeks before the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

NLEX went 64-70 during Guiao’s tenure highlighted by two semifinal appearances.
