Makati FC boys sweep way to Malaysia crown
Makati FC’s boys under-14 flexed its prowess with a 2-1 triumph over St. George Australia to grab the title in the 2022 Malaysia Borneo Football Cup recently in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
Joshua Moleje and River Solis netted first-half goals for Makati FC, which sailed undefeated on the way to the championship.

“We’re very happy for what the boys have accomplished in this tournament and the club looks forward to paving bigger dreams for our Filipino youth,” Lozano, also the director and chief executive officer of Makati FC, added.
It was also Solis who steered Makati FC to the final, with his 14th-minute strike fueling a 1-0 victory over Diklat Merden of Indonesia in the semifinal.
Article continues after this advertisementOn the way to capturing the trophy, Makati FC, whose U-15 squad won the title of this tournament in 2019, swept Group B with a maximum of nine points.
Makati FC blanked TABS Malaysia, 2-0, edged Football West Australia, 3-2, and upended fellow Philippine youth club Malaya FC, 2-0, to complete the sweep.
Solis was the team’s top goalscorer with six goals, highlighted by a brace against the Australians.
