Alyssa Valdez ‘hopeful’ for PVL Open Conference return
MANILA, Philippines—Creamline star Alyssa Valdez remains “hopeful” for an early return to the Premier Volleyball League, which gets going with the Open Conference in February.
Valdez, who will be serving as president of the upcoming Spikers’ Turf men’s volleyball, refused to give a full update regarding her knee injury saying she would much rather focus on the upcoming tournament for now.

“I’m doing therapy at the moment and hopefully, we all see each other at this coming PVL conference but we will see Spikers’ Turf first.”
Valdez hurt her right knee due to an awkward landing in the third set of the Cool Smashers’ victory against the Chery Tigo Crossovers in December.

“The management would like to inform everyone that after reviewing the MRI results, doctors have advised several weeks of rest and rehabilitation for our captain. Thank God that no surgery will be needed,” the team said in a statement last month.
The Cool Smashers won bronze in the last conference’s frenzy with Valdez winning 1st Best Outside Spiker plum.
But before the PVL action stars, Valdez will have to oversee the Spikers’ Turf first, which is set to start on January 22.
