Adamson beats defending champion NU to clinch Final Four in UAAP juniors

MANILA, Philippines—Adamson edged defending champion Nazareth School of National University, 72-64, to formally clinch a Final Four spot in the UAAP Season 85 boys’ basketball tournament at San Juan Arena on Wednesday.
Peter Rosillo tallied 22 points and five rebounds to lead the Junior Falcons to a 9-1 record and a sure spot in the playoffs. Vince Reyes carried the load in the point for Adamson, finishing with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Reinhard Jumamoy’s 25-point outburst was not enough to will the Bullpups to the victory as they fell to an 8-2 record, to tie with Far Eastern University at the second seed.
The Tamaraws, on the other hand, trashed University of Santo Tomas, 98-75.
The tandem of Kirby Mongcopa (28) and Luke Felipe (23) combined for 51 markers to deal the Tiger Cubs their sixth loss in ten outings.
JP Pangilinan scored 29 to go along with eight boards and five steals in a losing effort for UST. His scoring output was banked on five made buckets from beyond the arc.

Kobe Demisana, however, gave the Blue Eagles a run for their money with a double-double of his own with 28 points and 19 rebounds.
Ateneo’s win put them in a three-way-tie for the fourth seed with a 4-6 record while UPIS remained at the bottom of the pack with a 1-9 card.
