MANILA, Philippines--Ateneo held University of Santo Tomas to a single basket in the last five minutes for a 64-57 victory to grab the solo lead at the end of the first round of the 71st UAAP men's basketball competition Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Blue Eagles held the top spot at 6-1, while the Tigers dropped to fifth place at 3-4.
