MANILA, Philippines—Paris Olympics 2024 double-gold medalist Carlos Yulo shared a short but heartfelt message to his father Mark Andrew on Wednesday.

In a Facebook post shared by Carlos, he thanked his father for showing up during the Heroes’ Parade for Team Philippines.

MANILA, Philippines—Filipinos warmly welcomed Team Philippines back to home soil on Wednesday with a Heroes’ parade for the 2024 Paris Olympians along the streets of Manila and Pasay.

A day after its arrival on Tuesday, the Philippine delegation of athletes from France was welcomed by throngs of fans during the  “Pagbibigay Dangal: A Heroes’ Welcome for the Philippines’ 2024 Paris Olympians” parade.

  • The Team Philippines arrive at Rizal Memorial Sports Coliseum, where a program has been prepared to celebrate the Filipinos’ exploits in the Paris Olympics.

  • Fans inside the Rizal Memorial Coliseum erupt with “Chloe” chants upon the arrival of Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose, Carlos Yulo’s partner.
  • The Heroes parade convoy is now nearing the Rizal Memorial Coliseum where more fans await.
  • The parade has now entered Taft Avenue near United Nations station.

MANILA, Philippines — Lawmakers have increased the cash grants given to the Philippine delegation to the 2024 Paris Olympics, with two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo now getting over P14 million from the House of Representatives.

During the Congressional Reception for the athletes on Wednesday, it was announced that lawmakers mounted an additional cash incentive for Yulo on top of the P3 million per medal previously pledged by the House.

MANILA, Philippines — Paris Olympics two-time gold medalist Carlos Yulo thanked Filipinos who stayed up late to watch their games and competitions, saying that the athletes’ victory is the whole country’s win, too.

In a short message at the Congressional Reception for members of the Philippine delegation on Wednesday, Yulo thanked those who continuously prayed for their success at the recently concluded Olympics.

MANILA, Philippines—Carlos Yulo’s coach Allen Castañeda hopes the Filipino dynamo’s historic triumph in the Paris Olympics 2024 leads to more support for the sport of gymnastics in the country.

Yulo led the Philippine delegation’s arrival in Manila on Tuesday fresh off a medal haul of two golds and a pair of bronzes in France.

“It makes a huge impact. Maybe gymnastics will be more prioritized now. We expect to gain more support for us [in gymnastics],” said Castañeda, who thanked the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (Gap), in Filipino.

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) assured the public that the welcome parade for the homecoming Filipino Olympic heroes will be finished before the rush hour on Wednesday.

MMDA chief Don Artes said the motorcade will start at 3 p.m. from Aliw Theater to Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

“We will see to it that by 5:00 p.m., or before rush hour, the parade and program will be finished,” Artes said in a press conference Tuesday.

The Filipino Olympic heroes’ welcome parade would kick off at 3 p.m. and the MMDA cautioned motorists to expect traffic congestion along affected roads, urging motorists to take alternate routes.

However, a total of 300 MMDA personnel will be deployed to manage the traffic flow, he added.

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday awarded Paris Olympics double gold medal winner Carlos Yulo with the Presidential Medal of Merit as the Philippine delegation arrived in Malacañang on Tuesday night.

The medal is one of the highest awards conferred by the President to Filipinos in recognition of their contributions to sports, literature, science, the arts or entertainment.

MANILA, Philippines—Team Philippines is back on home soil after the country’s best finish in the Olympics at the Paris Summer Games.

The Philippine delegation of athletes returned home to a warm and festive welcome at Villamor Air Base in Pasay at 7:07 pm on Tuesday.

With a total medal haul of two golds and two bronzes in Paris, members of Team Philippines were welcomed back home by their loved ones and family members.
