MANILA, Philippines — A late fourth-quarter run carried Cebuana Lhuillier past Big Chill 65-60 on Thursday in the 2014 PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City.

The Gems were trailing 53-54 with 6:31 to play, but went on a frustrating 10-1 run in just 75 seconds to take a 63-55 lead and never trailed after that.

James Martinez led Cebuana Lhuillier’s reserves, which outscored Big Chill’s bench 43-32 with 13 points in helping grab the Gems’ third win.

“The boys were very motivated to win after our disappointing loss on Monday. But there’s still a lot of concerns that needs to be addressed,” said assistant coach Bay Cristobal.

All but one of 12 players fielded by coach Boyzie Zamar contributed offensively for the Gems, who bounced back from a 70-67 loss to Cagayan Valley last Monday.

Big Chill, meanwhile, reeled to its second straight loss in the last four games.

Rodney Brondial scored 17 points and Adrian Celada added 13 for the Big Chill, who had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer but Dexter Maiquez’s shot rattled out.
