Caguioa blasts ‘no heart, soft’ Ginebra on Twitter
MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra San Miguel veteran Mark Caguioa hardly speaks to the media anymore. But it turns out, he didn’t need to as he let his frustrations out anew on social networking site Twitter.
Caguioa, the long-time heart and soul of Ginebra, blasted his team following their listless effort in the 84-97 loss to Talk ‘N Text on Tuesday night.

“Dati rati kinakatakutan itong team nato at iniilagan pero ngayon lahat ng team gusto kami kalaban kasi nga mga tamad and sobrang lalambot,” Caguioa posted on his Twitter account Wednesday.
(Other teams used to fear and avoid Ginebra, but now everyone was to play us because we’re lazy and soft.)

Kilala ba nila si Coach Sonny? Noli Locsin? Pido? Bal david? Rudy Distrito? Itong mga player nato makikipag palitan talaga ng mukha,” the former MVP Caguioa said, referring to PBA legends who have donned the iconic Ginebra jersey.
(The players now don’t seem to know about Ginebra’s history. I don’t think they know because they don’t seem to care. Do they know coach Sonny? Noli Locsin? Pido? Bad David? Rudy Distrito? These players are willing to trade faces [against a defender]).
“Wala ng ganitong players ngayon kung meron man hindi pinapalaro dahil nga parang nagpo promote lang kami ng mga players ngayon.”
(We don’t have players like that anymore, and if there are any, they don’t get playing time because all we do today is promote players.)
The 34-year-old Caguioa was one of the few bright spots for Ginebra – leading his team in scoring with 19 points on nine-of-13 shooting from the field while the rest of the Kings shot just 20-of-67.
Ginebra’s problems though, weren’t just on the offensive end as the Kings came out lost on the defensive end too.
The Tropang Texters had their way especially in the second half where they broke the game wide open, leaving the crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in dead silence.
But the veteran guard is not pinning the blame solely on Ginebra’s coach, contrary to what most fans online are saying.
“Let me tell you guys kahit si Phil Jackson mag coach sa ganitong team hindi pa rin papasok sa semis. Walang mga puso maglaro WALA WALA WALA!”
(Let me tell you guys that even if Phil Jackson coached this team it still won’t make it to the semis. This team plays with no heart!)
