‘History to be made’ at ‘jaw-dropping’ Philippine Arena
MANILA, Philippines — It’s all about that first shot in one amazing arena.
For the 40th season of the PBA, one national team forward said that there is history to be made in the opening of the 2014-2015 season of the country’s elite basketball league.
Article continues after this advertisementTalk N’ Text forward Ranidel de Ocampo said that everything that would happen first in the Philippine Arena on Sunday would be eternally etched in the annals of the PBA.
“The first shot, the first victory, the first player to step on the court would be part of history,” de Ocampo said. “It’s always good to be included in the history books.”
Another forward, meanwhile, said that the opening of the 40th season is anything unlike before.
Article continues after this advertisementMeralco swingman Jared Dillinger, a compatriot of de Ocampo in the Gilas Pilipinas, said the new arena is “just jaw-dropping.”
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Dillinger said. “The magnitude, being this year is the 40th season, this is an extra treat for the fans.”
“It’s an extra cherry atop the cake.”
