MANILA, Philippines — It’s all about that first shot in one amazing arena.

For the 40th season of the PBA, one national team forward said that there is history to be made in the opening of the 2014-2015 season of the country’s elite basketball league.

“The first shot, the first victory, the first player to step on the court would be part of history,” de Ocampo said. “It’s always good to be included in the history books.”

Another forward, meanwhile, said that the opening of the 40th season is anything unlike before.

Meralco swingman Jared Dillinger, a compatriot of de Ocampo in the Gilas Pilipinas, said the new arena is “just jaw-dropping.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Dillinger said. “The magnitude, being this year is the 40th season, this is an extra treat for the fans.”

“It’s an extra cherry atop the cake.”
