BULACAN, Philippines — For the reigning Most Valuable Player of the PBA, one game at a time is the way to do it.
Junemar Fajardo, the defending PBA MVP and Most Improved Player, is not looking to add another Leo award to his trophy cabinet at the start of the 40th season of the PBA but taking in the new year one moment at a time.
“One at a time, I’m not looking to get another MVP trophy this early,” Fajardo said during the opening ceremonies of the new PBA season at the Philippine Arena on Sunday. “I just want to play.”
What Fajardo wants though is far bigger than his individual award: an All-Filipino Conference title for the San Miguel Beermen.
“I want a championship,” Fajardo said. “It looks like that we in the PBA will have a good fight this conference.”
“It’s a new season, it’s a new conference.”
