Pacquiao okays all terms for Floyd bout

Manny Pacquiao has thrown the ball once again in the lap of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Now, it’s up to the unbeaten American to return the ball or hurl it elsewhere.

Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, told Yahoo Sports Tuesday that the Filipino ring icon has agreed to his side of the terms for a May 2 megabout with Mayweather.

Arum added that Mayweather’s representatives are also amenable to the deal, meaning the only thing lacking for the projected blockbuster to push through is Mayweather’s approval.

Though Arum didn’t dwell on specifics, the 83-year-old boxing Hall of Famer told Yahoo Sports that he wants the fight contract sealed as soon as possible.

“I want to get some movement here, like bringing Mayweather to the table so we can go out and get everything signed and get the networks together and get the thing finished.”

Arum was referring to cable giants HBO and Showtime which have stakes on both fighters. Mayweather still has two more fights on a multimillion contract with Showtime, while Pacquiao’s last few fights were aired by HBO.

Pacquiao, accompanied by wife Jinkee, left for the United States last night. He is scheduled to have dinner with Prince Harry in London on Jan. 22 and serve as a Miss Universe judge in Doral, Miami, on Jan. 25.
