MANILA, Philippines — A press event on March 11 in Los Angeles officially kicks off the promotional buildup for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao’s May 2 (May 3, Manila time) showdown.
The megafight, five years in the making, is expected to break all records and turn out to be the most lucrative boxing match ever.
Pacquiao arrived in the US on Sunday to continue his training at the Wild Card Gym while Mayweather has also started his camp for the touted “Fight of the Century” which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Unlike in their previous fights, there will be no cross-country tour to promote the megabout, according to ESPN. Instead, there will be a presser in Los Angeles and another in Las Vegas before fight week.
