MANILA, Philippines—La Salle skipper Ara galang remains positive even after a season-ending knee injury that could sideline her for at least eight months.

Galang will be missing the Lady Spikers’ UAAP volleyball title bid after she tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL) and medial meniscus last Wednesday.

“Season is not yet done. I won’t be able to play for the finals with my team but will surely be with them spiritually. I still believe with my team! Lord you are Amazing! I know you’ll be with me and my team,” Galang said in an Instagram post.

Galang was seen writhing in pain as she was stretchered off the court after she just towed La Salle to within two points of the Lady Spikers’ seventh straight finals berth.

The 20-year-old Galang, who was rushed to Makati Medical center after the incident, thanked all of the well-wishers for the support.

“Thank you so much for all of the people who motivates and encourages me. I can’t show you guys how I appreciate it but I do. Thank you so much! I know I can handle this because of you guys. Thank you everyone for the love and care. I’m so blessed, so blessed. ALL IS WELL ,” the former co-MVP said.

La Salle will try to wrest the title from the heavy-favorite Ateneo, which is armed with a thrice-to-beat advantage, starting on Wednesday in game one of the finals.
