Talk ‘N Text rookie Kevin Alas is out for the remainder of the season after a second tear was found in his left foot that requires immediate surgery.

The Tropang Texters are in danger of missing the playoffs and could surely use the services of the crafty guard Alas, who will be out at least more three months after surgery.

“I just learned last night that I have a tear in my peroneal tendon that would require surgery,” Alas told INQUIRER.net Tuesday night after the Talk ‘N Text lost to Star, 105-93, that dealt a big blow to its playoff chances. “I’m really disappointed because I was expecting that I’ll be able to return this conference.”

“I really wanted to help my team but I can’t do anything right now,” the 23-year-old Alas said. “Our chances now have become very slim. We must win in our last game and just hope that other teams would lose theirs to have a chance.”

Alas, a key part of Talk ‘N Text’s rotation, hopes to be back just in time for the next season. CFC
