Ateneo’s highly-touted rookie Kat Tolentino is set to undergo surgery to treat her injured right knee sometime next week.

Tolentino hurt her knee during warmups last July 11 where she was supposed to make her anticipated debut for Ateneo against University of Santo Tomas.

“I’m supposed to be getting a surgery this week,” Tolentino said Sunday during Ateneo’s group stage match against San Sebastian Sunday at San Juan Arena. “I will continue with my rehab.”

Though, Tolentino hurdled her previous injuries before, she admits that suffering another setback is “frustrating” and that all the injuries have taken their toll on her emotionally.

“I’m used to the physical pain, the surgeries, but the emotional pain is different,” Tolentino said. “I’m frustrated and I can’t wrap my head around it.”
