After injuring ankle, Thompson assures he’ll be ready next game
Perpetual can breathe a sigh of relief.
Reigning NCAA MVP Earl Scottie Thompson evaded a major scare Tuesday as medics initially ruled his left ankle injury as just a minor sprain.
Article continues after this advertisementHowever, he will still seek further assessment from doctors in Perpetual and will undergo an x-ray.

“Tinatanong nila sa akin kung sumasakit pa. Di ko pa rin masabi kung saan nanggagaling yung sakit kasi gumagapang yung sakit pataas,” Thompson said.

Thompson injured his ankle after landing on the left foot of Laminou Hamadou with 6:31 left to play in the fourth period in the Altas’ game against Emilio Aguinaldo college.
He immediately clenched his leg in pain and was lifted to the dugout for further evaluation.
Thompson said that he already felt pain after he fell on an earlier play in the third quarter.

Though he unable to finish the 68-55 victory, the Gilas cadet he still totalled four points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.
Fortunately for Perpetual, Thompson will have an ample time to recuperate as its next game is still a week away against JRU.
But he assured that he will be ready for the Altas’ next game.
“Siguro inabot lang talaga ng disgrasya, pero kaya na ito sa next game (Maybe it really was just an unfortunate incident but I’ll be ready for our next game.),” Thompson said.
