Ateneo Blue Eagles face off with UAAP nemesis NU Bulldogs in Spikers’ Turf final.
Always the religious one, Ateneo head coach Oliver Almadro was relieved by his team’s victory against National College of Business and Arts in the semifinals of Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference.
And he had someone to thank again for his latest triumph.

“First, I would like to thank the Lord for putting us in the Finals again,” Almadro said after the Blue Eagles’ sweep of the Wildcats. “Lord gave us the chance to win the finals.”
Standing in his Blue Eagles’ way are the Bulldogs of National University, their UAAP nemesis for the past couple of seasons.
NU won the UAAP volleyball title in Seasons 75 and 76 while the Blue Eagles won the title in Season 78 against the Bulldogs.

Almadro said the Bulldogs are still a threat despite the exit of middle-blocker Peter Torres but he knows his Blue Eagles can match them up.
“NU is improving but if they can improve we too can also improve,” Almadro said.
