Paul Lee proud of Gilas’ showing so far in Fiba Asia
Though unable to play with Gilas Pilipinas in the ongoing 2015 Fiba Asia Championship, Paul Lee is still keeping a close eye on the progress of the national team.
And he joined the whole country in jubilation as Gilas swept Group E in the second round to take the top spot, putting itself on a good position for the knockout stages.

“Magaling yung ginagawa nila ngayon, lalo na yung yesterday game nila against Iran. Ibang klaseng puso yung pinapakita nila, all out talaga sila,” Lee, who was a member of the 2014 squad in the Fiba World Cup held in Spain.
(They’re doing great right now, especially yesterday’s game against Iran. They’re showing a lot of heart and they’re going all out.)

On the heels of Gilas’ 99-65 rout of India on Tuesday, the Rain or Shine playmaker also praised the tremendous effort from key players Calvin Abueva, Jayson Castro and Andray Blatche.
“Lahat naman nagko-contribute, pero iba yung pinapakita ni Calvin (Abueva), Jayson (Castro), and tsaka si Andray (Blatche),” Lee said.
(Everyone’s contributing, but what Calvin, Jayson, and Andray are showing are just special.)

While he missed out on the chance to don a Gilas jersey this year, Lee hopes to get another crack at representing the country in the future.
“Sana kung may chance. Pero kung ano na lang siguro yung pinagkaloob sa atin, dun na lang muna tayo,” he said.
(I wish if there was a chance. But whatever it is that is given to me right now, I’ll be happy with it.)
