Aces secure twice-to-beat, scrape past Batang Pier
Alaska turned things around in the second half to beat NorthPort, 95-85, and nail a top four slot in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Mike Harris had 27 points and 25 rebounds for the Aces, who wrapped up their schedule in the elimination round with an 8-3 record.
Harris came up big in the fourth quarter with his three-point play capping Alaska’s 12-0 blast and giving the Aces an 89-78 lead with only 2:04 remaining.
Chris Banchero added 15 points, three rebounds and five assists for Alaska, which trailed, 41-47, at the start of the third quarter.
Rashad Woods topscored with 33 points on top of 13 rebounds for the Batang Pier, who ended their season owning a woeful 2-9 slate for the conference.
