Running and music go together for 12,000 Filipinos who joined this year’s The Music Run by Philam Vitality
That’s an equation that a lot of Filipinos apparently subscribe to as some 12,000 individuals joined this year’s The Music Run last November in the Filinvest Event Grounds in Alabang.
The sold out running event is proof that music can turn what otherwise could be a monotonous activity into something fun and exciting-something to look forward to.
The only international running event that gets participants pumping to the beat as they run, this year’s The Music Run is the third in as many years. The race was spearheaded by Philam Vitality, the game-changing wellness program of Philam Life.
“Philam Vitality is making healthy living more accessible through The Music Run. It’s the perfect platform to encourage people to get started on their wellness journey, with everyone just enjoying the run while grooving to the music,” said Leo Tan, Philam Life Chief Marketing Officer.
Participants ran to the beat to finish their 5K and 10K races. There were timed runs for a more challenging activity, as well as the easy and fun category. While runners worked the track, music fueled their stride, pumping energy for maximum performance.
Once runners reached the finish line, every one grooved to the music of local bands Imago and December Avenue, as well as Australian radiohouse DJ Sam Withers.
“[The Music Run] is one of the ways we help people achieve little wins, where we make them experience how fun being active can be without too much effort. With such a fun activity to get them started, encouraging them to live healthier, longer and better lives becomes so much easier,” Tan said.
The course was divided into different inspiration zones that kept the runners pumped with various activities as they passed through. Event participants-and their companions-got a taste of the Philam Vitality journey, with booths at the pre-race area and the different tunnels in the course.
Philam Vitality also rewarded lucky raffle winners with spa gift certificates and trips to Sumilon, Cebu and Bali, Indonesia, as well as Toby’s gift certificates and Garmin watches.
Among those who joined the run were Philam Life’s brand ambassadors Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico and Wil Dasovich, whose lifestyles easily make them fitspirations to everyone.
With the record-breaking number of participants, it’s safe to say that the next Music Run is bound to be much bigger still. Philam Life is definitely on the right track to motivating Filipinos to start-and stay the course-on their fitness journey.
