MANILA, Philippines–Creamline rode through a turbulent opening set to zoom past PacificTown-Army, 16-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-16, Wednesday and take a share of the lead in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.
Under heavy fire from the Lady Troopers in the first set, the Cool Smashers slowly went back on defense, steadied on the service lane and caught them flatfooted with a variety of scoring choices en route to their eighth consecutive victory.
The win pushed Creamline to 8-1 tying at the top resting PetroGazz, while PacificTown-Army incurred its fifth defeat in nine matches.
Import Aleoscar Blanco topscored with 16 points for the Cool Smashers.
