De Ocampo on Monday called it a career after playing 15 seasons in the PBA, citing that injuries led to his decision to retire.

(As of now, I can’t really tell, but I can consider it if there’s someone out there who is interested in making me part of their staff.)

The 38-year-old De Ocampo certainly has the resumé and reputation worthy of a great coach with six PBA titles and two silver medals in the Fiba Asia Championship in 2013 and 2015 as an integral part of Gilas Pilipinas.

De Ocampo, who was also part of the national team that competed in the 2014 Fiba World Cup in Spain, is also well-loved and respected by his peers.

“Focus muna ako sa mga negosyo, tapos kung may dumating naman sa larangan man ng basketball o hindi, siguro puwedeng i-grab yung ibang opportunity,” he said.

(I’ll just focus first on my other businesses and if something comes up, whether in basketball or not, maybe I can grab the opportunity.)
