MANILA, Philippines—Brandon Vera is back in the Philippines after spending nearly a year in Guam together with wife Jessica and firstborn child Atreyu Timothy and he’s already starting from where he left off.

The ONE World heavyweight champion is looking at his division with eagle eyes specifically the match between Mauro Cerilli and Abdulbasir Vagabov in the main event of ONE: Unbreakable II, a previously recorded event at Singapore Indoor Stadium and would be globally broadcasted Friday.

Also in the card is Alain Ngalani against Oumar Kane.

All four of the contenders are fighting their way to a title with Cerilli the only man from that bunch who’s already had a match against Vera, a losing effort in November 2018.

“These guys are amazing heavyweights, each with their own attributes to solve and figure out. I’m excited to see this event, and even more excited to watch and learn. I’m beyond hyped for all the recent signings of world-class heavyweight talent. It makes me nervous, which in turn, makes me train even harder,” said Vera.

“All of them are future opponents. Everyone is when you’re the champ.”

Vera (16-8), who came off a loss against Aung La N Sang for the light heavyweight title, is expected to defend his heavyweight championship against Arjan Bhullar (10-1) but nothing has been finalized yet.

“I would say wait for it for the first half of the year,” said Vera.
