Fil-Ams Jordan Clarkson, Jalen Green lead Jr. NBA PH virtual clinic
MANILA, Philippines — Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson and top NBA Draft prospect Jalen Green will headline the first Jr. NBA Philippines Clinics Online on May 29.
A series of free virtual basketball clinics will be for 13-year-old to 17-year-old boys and girls across the country.
Article continues after this advertisementClarkson and Green will be joined by Jr. NBA coaches in conducting basketball drills. The two Filipino-American standouts will also participate in a live session where they will talk about the value of fundamental skills training in their professional careers.
WNBA legend Ticha Penicheiro, on the other hand, will lead the Jr. NBA session designed for girls on June 12.
“We’re excited to bring together players from across the NBA, WNBA and NBA G League to inspire our young athletes participating in the first ever Jr. NBA Philippines Clinics Online,” said Scott Levy, NBA Philippines Managing Director.

Jr. NBA Philippines will also publish videos featuring Clarkson, Penicheiro, former NBA coaches, beginning June 21 on the official Jr. NBA Philippines Facebook page where they will discuss a range of sports-related topics including nutrition, psychology and diversity.
A social media contest to pick the 10 boys and 10 girls who will participate in the Jr. NBA Asia Pacific Camp Online will also be launched.
The one-day virtual basketball camp, conducted via video conferencing platform on July 31, will feature advanced basketball instruction, skills challenges and interactive sessions with select NBA and WNBA players.
The 28-year-old Clarkson is playing his best basketball yet in his ninth season in the NBA, averaging a career-best 18.4 points in 26.7 minutes off the bench for the top-seeded Jazz. He is the frontrunner to win this season’s Sixth Man of the Year award.
Green, meanwhile, is a projected top five pick in the 2021 draft this July after an impressive stint with G League Ignite.
