MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines remained at the 31st spot in Fiba’s updated world rankings following the Tokyo Olympics.
Gilas Pilipinas, which last placed in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, is the no.6 team in Asia behind leader Australia, Iran, New Zealand, China, and South Korea.
The Philippines’ current points stand at 322.8, 13.2 points behind the Koreans, who lost to the Filipinos twice in the Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers in June.
Australia is ranked third in the world following its bronze medal finish in Tokyo with an accumulated tally of 690.5 points.
Tokyo gold medalist United States remains on top with 765.2 points while Spain, which finished outside the Olympic podium, is at no.2 with 722.4 points.
Slovenia, which ended fourth in Tokyo, jumped 12 places in the world rankings to get to fourth place with 675.9 points while Olympic silver medalist France is at no.5 with 670.5 points.
Serbia came in sixth with 665.9 points while Argentina followed at no.7 with 655.3 points.
Italy ranked eighth with 649.3 points followed by Lithuania at ninth at 647.4 with Greece rounding out the top 10 with 633.3 points.
