MANILA, Philippines—Kobe Paras joined Niigata’s practices for the first time after he completed his 14-day quarantine ahead of the 2021-22 B.League season.
The 6-foot-6 forward joined the Albirex BB on Friday upon completion of the required health protocol for incoming imports, the team announced on social media.
“Welcome to Niigata,” posted the club on Twitter. “Kobe Paras joined the team after a 14-day quarantine. Let’s go Kobe! Let’s go Albirex BB!”
Paras will have a week to integrate himself into the team with Niigata set to play its first game of the season on Saturday against Kyoto.
The son of PBA icon Benjie Paras is just one of eight Filipinos in the B.League system and this will be his first professional season after leaving University of the Philippines.
