MANILA, Philippines—Jason Brickman will be playing in his sixth professional league after he signed with Taiwan’s Kaohsiung Poseidon Aquas in the T1 League, the team announced on social media.
The Filipino-American point guard will be the Aquas’ designated Asian player.
“Brickman stands out in many Asian and other countries, the main reason is his ability to control the rhythm,” said Aquas chief executive Li Weicheng in a statement. “He will be an important captain for the Poseidon team.”
The 6-foot point guard is fourth all-time in the US NCAA Division 1 assist leader with 1,007 dimes when he played for Long Island University.
Brickman, who played in Russia, Germany, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines, tried to enter the recent PBA Draft but wasn’t able to complete the necessary documents required for Filipino-foreign players.
He then committed for Meralco’s 3×3 team.
Brickman last played for the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League where he averaged 8.9 points, 9.1 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in the 2019-20 season.
