MANILA, Philippines—Shiga took a completely different rout in dealing with Kyoto this time as it hammered out a 95-72 beatdown in their rematch in the West Conference of the 2021-22 Japan B.League season Sunday at Kyoto City Gymnasium.

The Lakestars, who escaped their first meeting 84-83, maintained their hold of the top spot in the West Conference with a 5-1 record following their fourth straight win while the Hannaryz dropped to 2-4.

Holding a 42-41 lead at the end of the break, the Lakestars turned things up a notch in the third taking a 67-49 lead after Kashiwagura Teppei knocked down a three-pointer to cap off a 21-1 run with 1:52 left in the quarter.

Kashiwagura then extended Shiga’s lead to 30, 91-61, midway through the fourth knocking down two free throws with 4:39 to play.

Kiefer Ravena didn’t have to do much for Shiga to win its fourth straight game as he finished with a meager line of six points, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Sean O’mara led the Lakestars with 22 points and 15 rebounds while Shibuta Reon added 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.

Justin Harper had 20 points, nine rebounds, and one block to lead the Hannaryz.
