B.League: Paras, Niigata fail to get one over Mikawa

MANILA, Philippines—Niigata and Kobe Paras lost to Mikawa anew, 77-75, in their inter-conference matchup in the 2021-22 Japan B.League season Saturday at Niigata Higashi General Sports Center.

The Albirex BB have now dropped fifth straight for a 2-6 record in the East Conference while the Seahorses improved to 6-2 in the West.

Paras drew things even at 75-all floating in for a jumper with 10 seconds left in the game but Davante Gardner answered with the winner putting in the hook shot with barely a second left.

Sato Kimitake tried to win it for Niigata but missed on his 3-point attempt.

Gardner finished with a game-high 23 points for the Seahorses while Nishida Yudai and Kyle Collinsworth had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Rosco Allen led Niigata with 18 points and 10 boards while Tshilidzi Nephawe finished with 16 points and seven rebounds.

Paras had six points, on 3-of-9 shooting, five rebounds, and two blocks.
