Purefoods rules PBA 3×3 Leg 4, tops Meralco
MANILA, Philippines—Purefoods captured its first title taking down Leg 2 champion Meralco, 21-15, in the finals of the fourth leg of the PBA 3×3 Sunday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Antonio Bonsubre knocked down the long ball worth P100,000 to deliver the TJ Titans to the champions’ circle of the competition.
Article continues after this advertisementA short back-and-forth ensued at the start of the game with the two sides getting into a 6-6 tie early on.
Joseph Eriobu then gave Purefoods the spark putting his team up 10-6 off of a two-hand stuff.
The Bolts managed to get to a 14-14 tie after Joseph Sedurifa’s layup but Eriobu was quick to respond with a drive of his own before Paolo Javelona converted two straight shots for the Titans’ 18-15 lead.

Jed Mendoza and Bonsubre had three points apiece for the Titans.
Tonino Gonzaga, Alfred Batino, and Sedurifa all had five points each for the Bolts while Dexter Maiquez had one.
Leg 1 champion TNT, meanwhile, captured the bronze in a tight 21-20 third-place match over Platinum Karaoke.
Almond Vosotros led the Tropang Giga with 12 points.
Purefoods, Meralco, Sista, and TNT have so far won the four titles in the league.
