GlobalPort-PH stuns Argentine squad
A well-knit GlobalPort-Philippine used an early lead to upset fancied team from Argentina, 10-9, in the Miguel Lorenzo Romero Cup recently in Calatagan, Batangas.
Playing on the field named after his son Miguel Lorenzo, sportsman Mikee Romero formed a 1-2 punch with veteran Anthony Garcia in scoring the team’s first win over a squad backstopped by well-decorated Argentine international players.
“It was unbelievable beating the Argentines,” said Romero, who scored a crucial goal late in the game that helped GlobalPort repel Argentina’s determined comeback. “We made a good start because of the team’s chemistry.”

GlobalPort’s lead, however, dwindled after the half as the Argentineans intensified their attack to pull to within 9-8.
Anthony Garcia, though, sealed the win with his sixth goal with just two minutes left.
