MANILA, Philippines—Barangay Ginebra point guard Stanley Pringle is expected to miss three months following his surgery in his left knee’s meniscus.
Gin Kings head coach Tim Cone revealed on Twitter that Pringle went under the knife last week which rules the 34-year-old out of the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup entirely.
“Stanley had surgery performed last week on the meniscus of his left knee and will be out three months—six weeks of non-weight bearing therapy and six weeks of weight bearing therapy. That will put him out of the Governors’ Cup,” wrote Cone as a reply to a fan’s question.
Pringle, the Best Player of the Conference for the 2020 Philippine Cup, played just one game so far this conference, scoring seven points with four rebounds, three assists, and one block in the Gin Kings’ 80-77 win over Alaska.
Cone said in previous reports that Pringle’s left knee already bothered him during the 2021 Philippine Cup in Bacolor, Pampanga but the team only managed the point guard’s workload.
Ginebra is at the fourth seed in the standings with a 3-1 record and will next play on January 7 against Blackwater at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
