MANILA, Philippines—Jerwin Ancajas has been the IBF super flyweight champion since 2016 but he will only make his Las Vegas debut on February 26 (February 27 Manila time) when he defends his title for the 10th time.

Ancajas’ bout against Fernando Daniel Martinez will be held at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, smack in the heart of the Strip, according tom coach and manager Joven Jimenez.

Ancajas (33-1-2), who holds the second-longest active title reign, is on a 21-fight unbeaten streak stretching back to 2012.

The 30-year-old also holds a three-fight winning streak with his 2018 bout against Alexandro Santiago the only match that ended in a draw during his title reign.

Thammanoon Niyomtrong of Thailand is the only boxer with a longer active reign in the sport after having won the WBA world minimumweight title on June 29, 2016 while Ancajas won his strap on September 3, 2016.

Martinez (13-0), meanwhile, will be fighting in his first world title fight in his young professional career.

The Argentinian started his professional career in August 2017, nearly eight years after Ancajas started.
